Dartington Morris are again hosting an annual Day of Morris Dancing in Totnes, on Saturday 17 September 2022.
This event is open to all local Morris sides from the Open Morris, Morris Federation, and Morris Ring to form a Joint Morris Organisation Local Day of Dance.
Around half a dozen invited guest sides will join Dartington Morris, starting at 11am and finishing at around 3pm.
On display will be a mixture of Cotswold Morris, North-West Clog and Border Morris.
The following sides have confirmed they will be joining us:
- Glory of the West (Cotswold)
- Green Willow (Northwest Clog)
- Grimspound Border Morris
- Lodestone Border Morris
- Plymouth Clog (Northwest Clog)
- Plymouth Morris (Cotswold)
and of course Dartington Morris, performing Cotswold Morris dances.
You can follow updates on this event in the future by liking the South Devon Day of Dance Facebook page.
We will start at 11am at the top of the town, meeting at the Bay Horse Inn and then moving down through the town centre, dancing at available spots on the way. We will finish on the Plains, and ending up at the Dartmouth Inn. We hope to call in at the King William IV and the Totnes Brewing Company on the way.
The sides will perform at various locations in the town (depending on available space), to include Rotherfold opposite the Bay Horse, near the market square, adjacent to St Mary's church and finally the Plains.
